Creative Camden.

The last couple of days it’s been so hot, and I don’t deal with hot weather very well. So this week I have been knocked out by the heat wave barely able to move.

So the post about my trip to London just had to wait.

I arrived at Euston around 12 and took the tube straight to Camden to go eat at Tortilla. Their chicken burritos are one of my favourite food at the moment.

After the food break I walked around a little in Camden Town. I had read online about a street art walk. Unfortunately I was to late for this but I decided to try to find some pieces by myself.

When I finally got out of the worst tourist/market area I found several art pieces located in various side streets.

Bingsoo was also on my list for the day, this is a Korean shaved ice dessert.

I got the taste for this in Vancouver and I was glad to find a cafe in London that also serves this.

I did not have time to go to Scandi Kitchen and Twinings Tea shop this time. Guess I have to take another London trip, that’s to bad.

Photo shoots just got easier.

During the last week I have experimented with the self-timer function on my mobile for outfit photos.

It has been a bit irritating sometimes as I had to find safe suitable places to put the mobile. And I had to go back and forth to set the timer.

I have been wondering if I should get myself a mini  tripod for mobile.

The choice was between Gorillapod and Gekkopod. After a bit of research I chose Gekkopod as the reviews said it was a bit better size wise and to carry around.

And so I ordered it from Amazon.

They could inform me that I was lacking only £5 to be able to test Prime and get free 1 day delivery.

Therefore I found a Bluetooth remote shutter for mobile photos as I have been considering buying this for a while.

The order was registered Friday evening and I could track the delivery online.

Unfortunately I did not get the packet before I left for London. It was actually delivered just as I was boarding the train in Northampton.

But I really cant complain about this speedy delivery as it was well under 24 hours and the goods was waiting for me as i got back.

So today I took my Gekkopod for a walk to test it.

You can see the result below.

Adventure time.

Listen min inneholder dog mange punkter, for mange.

I am planning to visit London today.

Since its only about an hour with train it makes for a good destination for a day trip.

It will be nice to get away from Northampton for a few hours and get inspiration for some more photos.

I have also mad a mental list of a few places I want to visit.

Like Scandi Kitchen, where I am planning on stocking up on some goodies.

But there are so many places on my list, to many.

And what I learnt last time I was in London is that you spend more time doing things than you think. And traveling between destinations also takes time.

So I just have to choose a few and visit the other ones the next times I will be visiting the city.

Mobile photography.

After just short of two years I have finally discovered the self timer function on my phone.

This made me able to do outfit photos.

So these past days I have used this function to take photos for my Instagram feed.

Colour change.

After the fiasco with hair make up (hint it didn’t even show) I figured it was time to use that hair colour set I bought months ago.

So I fished it out from the cupboard under the sink.

When I opened the colour mix and started mixing I though the colour looked very orange.

Wow, is it really suppose to look like this?
As I already started mixing it I had to just throw it away if I was not going to use it.

Of course I had thrown away the box long ago and had to Google how the colour was suppose to look.

The colour on the picture looked OK, not at all that orange and I decided to continue.

I got the colour mix well into my hair, did have to get to every strand of hair.
I managed to get my skin quite red stained as well, and my shoulders.

As I spent quite a long time getting my hair full of the mix I cut some of the processing time. I decided to let it work for about 20 min.

Rinsing took quite a long time.
I felt there was still a little red in the water when I gave up, but I didn’t want to use all of the hot water.

I dont own a hair dryer so I  just had to wait until it dried by it self to see the results.

I am very happy with the results, this is really my colour.

Day out at Alton Towers.

Selv med mine to togbytter.

Vi hadde sett oss ut The Wicker man, basert pa filmen.

Beforehand I was most stressed for the train ride, it turned out this was the least of my worries.

Getting to Derby was easy, even with my two change of trains. To get to the park should turn out to be more complicated… and costly.

We were told from the information at the bus station that there was only one bus to the park in the morning and one bus back in the evening.
This sounds really weird for a popular park like this.

We decided to check how much a taxi would be, we had come this far, it would be a shame to not get all the way to the park.

The cab was not super cheap, but since we were to to share the cost it was ok.

Finally we were getting to the park.

In the park we were quick to decide what rides to try, since we didn’t have a lot of time.

Congo River Rapids was the first one to try, this was the closest we got to the timber slide.

After the ride we passed by an ice cream kiosk and decided to treat ourselfs.

I really don’t regret this as this was delicious.

After the ice cream break we went looking for a real roller coaster.

We decided on The Wicker Man, based on the film.
This is built in tree and looked quite fun, bu when we were outside I became a little unsure.

It was several years since I last been on a roller coaster, did I really dare?

After a few seconds I thought, yes, I really cant chicken out now. Go on.

I was super stoked when we entered the queue.
This queue took quite a long time.
It must have been 30-40 min and my mood was gradually declining.

But there was no way of getting out so I just had to continue onward.
At last, it was our turn.

The ride started great, with a short intro telling us that we were the chosen ones and we were being sacrificed.

The main part was OK, I didn’t like that it was all in one part. It would have been better if there was a few downhill parts and then a build up before it was more downhill parts.

And then, we stopped, in the dark. I knew something was happening, something scary. A voice that said something creepy.

And then we were just at the exit and had to get off, I was a bit dissapointed.

We were almost at closing time.
Earlier in the day we had talked to a woman at the information, who told us that there was no buses now outside high-season.

But we wanted to get the information clear, maybe there was a buss to another station we could use.

But no, no bus at all and they could only recommend us to contact cab companies.

Did we really have to get a cab again?
This trip was going to ruin me economically

I asked the woman at the information if she could get us the prices for more of the cab companies and after a while she returned with a few papers.

The prices for all the cab companies and the bus times.

Yes, there was a bus from the park now, the one bus back to Derby. And it leaves in two minutes.

We had to run, but we made it.
Barely.

I guess this was my first and last visit to Alton Towers.

UFO

I was 12 and every year I was looking forward to the local fun fair.

My favourite ride was the tea cups. No, not the small one for small kids.
This was the big ride where the wagon spins around itself at the same time it spins around the other wagons.

Other people in my class had tried the UFO and told stories about it.

This was the coolest ride.
It was spinning so fast that you were sucked up against the wall.
You could also move a little so you could be upside down.
People had even died taking this ride, they had gotten ill so they choked on their own vomit.

I was unsure, did I dare to test this ride?
Was I that brave?

But I “had to” try, I could not chicken out now.
I have to admit I was a bit nervous when the ride started.
It felt strange being pushed up against the wall.

Don’t get sick, don’t get sick.

Luckily I did not get ill and did survive and pass this coolness test.

Changes.

Neste anbefaling kommer da i juli.

I have decided to change the weekly Netflix/TV-series post to a monthly post.

This is to prevent me running out of TV-series to write about And also to let the readers get time to watch the recommended series.

The next recommendation is in July.

Raffle tickets and Super Mario.

Loddsalg?

Raffle ticket? Well, I never win anything anyway.

But maybe that could change?
I took a look at the prize list.

Afternoon off, that could be nice.
Body Shop mystery prize, I could discover new products.
Wait, Super Mario fridge magnets?
I want those!

So I bought a few raffle tickets just in case. And took a note of when the draw would be.

The day arrived but I completely forgot about the draw.

A few of my colleagues are coming from the draw and one of them seems like she won my magnets.

So I go over to have a look at her prize and what kind of figures she got.

The magnets are small pictures from SMB and you can set them up to make your own level.

I tell her how cool I think they are.
And then she actually give me the magnets.

So now I just have to design my dream level.
